i was sceptical in the beginning after i reading so much about bigger "tonnage" machines, but this unit has exceeded my expectations. i have frequent access to Murray river red gum and this little beauty splits it with relative ease. i also love the small storage footprint when stored in the vertical config. i also really enjoy splitting smaller logs in the 45Deg config.
Had a much more powerful log splitter, but it took up too much room, so decided to go for this one, being a much small floor space taken up in shed. As we are elderly hubby did a modification so that the splitter will now attach to the front of our mini skid steer. Now when we want to use we just set it all up and skid steer carries to where we want to work, put it on ground and it is held securely by skid steer.
The goods arrived well packaged and quite quickly. The assembly was not that hard. The instructions provided were sufficient. I was happy to find that a lot of the assembly was already done. Started first go. Cuts through my timber like a hot knife through butter. I gave it a good workout and was very happy with the results. Like I said, so far, so good. Providing nothing goes wrong with the splitter, I would recommend this log splitter.
